Dams seem to attract more interest and fascination than any other type of man-made structures. Dams fascinate not just because of the engineering skills involved or the surrounding natural setting, but because they represent projects in which human creativity and resourcefulness is challenged and engaged by water, an element of aesthetic, psychological and even spiritual appeal. Dams enable humans to exert power over the flow of water, to control water and direct it. Dams, therefore, are much more than a strictly water resource issue, they express a philosophy. In little over four decades, ACE registers it's supremacy in these complex man-made structures with more than 120 Dams, Barrages and other Hydraulic Structures in Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Libya, Nigeria, Yemen and Thailand with advisory and review assignments in Jordan, Ghana, Volta and other countries. ACE possesses extensive experience in Monitoring, Inspection, Safety Evaluation, Design, Construction Supervision and Remedial & Rehabilitation Works for Dams, Barrages and Hydraulic Structures. It's approach to safety inspection is based on the international safety requirements as recommended by the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) and guidelines for safety inspection of dams prepared by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as well as the Reservoir Safety Act of the United Kingdom. The company also has the honor of designing and supervising the construction of Rawal Dam, the first dam in Pakistan, in 1960. ACE has wide-ranging expertise in this sector having undertaken numerous small and large hydraulic structures including dams, hydropower projects and barrages, both in the country and abroad. These include: » 50 Dams in Pakistan Areas of Expertise» Site Reconnaissance» Topographic Survey and Mapping » Field Investigations and Lab Testing » Geotech & Foundations » Geology & Hydrogeology » Seismotectonics » Hydrology and Hydraulics » Structures » Reservoir Studies » Model Studies » Socio-Economic Studies » Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) » Technical Specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) » Tender and Contract Documents » Quality Management » Training/Transfer of Technology » Operation and Maintenance Manuals » Feasibility Studies » Project Planning » Preliminary and Detailed Designing » Construction Supervision and Management |
